About Cancer Bats
Cancer Bats are a Canadian hardcore punk and groove metal band from Toronto, Ontario, formed in 2004. Known for their high-energy performances and aggressive sound, the band blends hardcore punk with elements of heavy metal, creating a raw, powerful musical experience. The current lineup features Liam Cormier (lead vocals), Scott Middleton (guitar), Jaye R. Schwarzer (bass), and Mike Peters (drums). Over their career, they've released seven studio albums, including Birthing the Giant (2006), Hail Destroyer (2008), Dead Set on Living (2012), Searching for Zero (2015), The Spark That Moves (2018), and their latest, Psychic Jailbreak (2022) as well as six EPs. Cancer Bats have built a reputation for intense live shows, extensive touring, and a dedicated fan base, while maintaining connections to their punk and metal roots through both music and visual style, including distinctive merch lines like Bat Rider and Slime Bat apparel. They continue to influence the heavy music scene in Canada and internationally with their relentless sound and performance energy.
