About Consuming Misery
Consuming Misery is a rising brutal death metal band from Hamilton, Ontario, formed in 2023 and quickly gaining traction within the local “Steel City” underground scene. Known for an uncompromisingly heavy and abrasive sound, the band leans into the more extreme side of death metal, combining slamming riffs, blast-beat-driven percussion, and deeply guttural vocals to create a dense, punishing sonic style. Their music emphasizes raw intensity and shock value, with song titles and themes often reflecting grotesque, chaotic, and visceral imagery typical of the brutal death metal subgenre. Early releases such as Cosmic Mutilation and subsequent singles and splits showcase a lo-fi, rehearsal-room energy that prioritizes heaviness and authenticity over polished production, helping them resonate with fans of underground extreme metal.
