Dave Gunning is a Canadian folk singer-songwriter from Pictou County, Nova Scotia, known for his storytelling abilities and deep connection with audiences. Inspired by witnessing his first live concert, a 1981 double bill of John Allan Cameron and Stan Rogers, Gunning has spent over 25 years crafting a career in folk music, releasing 14 albums including Up Against the Sky (2019), The Same Storm (2022), and No More Pennies (2012). His work often explores themes of community, heritage, and personal reflection, and he is active in charitable initiatives such as the Zero Hunger Campaign, which raises funds to stock school free stores throughout Nova Scotia.
