About Donnie Dumphy
Donnie Dumphy – Newfoundland's Deadliest Comedy Character
Donnie Dumphy is one of Newfoundland and Labrador's most recognizable comedy characters, known for his outrageous personality, unmistakable Newfoundland humour, love of dirt bikes, and unforgettable catchphrases.
Portrayed by Newfoundland actor and comedian Leon Parsons, Donnie first gained popularity through viral internet videos, including Havin' a Time and For the B'ys. His distinctive brand of humour combines exaggerated Newfoundland culture, offbeat storytelling, comedy, and music.
Donnie's popularity eventually carried him from YouTube to the big screen, starring in the Canadian comedy film *How to Be Deadly*. The film follows Donnie's misadventures in St. John's as he attempts to turn his life around and win back his girlfriend, Brenda.
Beyond his videos and film appearances, Donnie has also released comedy music, including the album Lord of the B'ys, and made appearances at festivals and other entertainment events.
With his signature red cap, long hair, motorcycle gloves, and larger-than-life personality, Donnie Dumphy has become a recognizable figure in Newfoundland's contemporary comedy culture.
