About Filth
Filth is a hard-hitting downtempo deathcore band from Shelby, North Carolina, renowned for blending brutal deathcore heaviness with raw hip-hop influences, creating a unique gutter-style sound that delivers crushing breakdowns, heavy grooves, and aggressive vocal delivery. Formed in 2015 as a side project by guitarist David Gantt and vocalist Dustin Mitchell, who previously played together in InVoker, the band quickly evolved into a full force known for its street-tough energy and crowd-killing intensity that resonates deeply with fans of the modern deathcore scene. Their music combines downtuned riffs, slamming rhythms, and hip-hop-inspired flows with themes of raw aggression and resilience, as showcased in standout releases like the full-length album Southern Hostility and the 2026 EP Welcome to Shell Town, featuring tracks such as “Southern Hostility,” “Outta Pocket,” “Chin Check,” and “Bodies.” With a current lineup including members such as Zared Hardin on guitar, Sean Britt on bass, and Kevin Daniels on drums alongside the founding duo, Filth continues to build a loyal following through relentless touring, high-impact live shows, and an unmistakable “Gutter Gang” ethos that defines their authentic, no-holds-barred approach to extreme music.
