About Harry Manx
Canadian musician and songwriter Harry Manx has built an international reputation for his distinctive fusion of blues, folk, and Indian classical music. Born on the Isle of Man and later settling in Canada, Manx spent years studying the mohan veena under acclaimed Indian musician Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, an experience that profoundly shaped his musical identity. His performances blend traditional slide guitar blues with Eastern ragas, creating a sound often described as “Mysticssippi” — a meeting point between Mississippi Delta blues and Indian spirituality. Since releasing his debut album *Dog My Cat* in 2001, Manx has recorded a prolific catalogue of acclaimed albums, earning multiple Maple Blues Awards and several Juno Award nominations. Known for his expressive guitar work, soulful vocals, and thoughtful songwriting, he has captivated audiences across North America, Europe, Australia, and beyond. Whether performing intimate solo concerts or appearing on major festival stages, Harry Manx continues to push musical boundaries while honouring the traditions that inspire him, establishing himself as one of Canada’s most unique and respected roots musicians.
