About JJ Wilde
JJ Wilde, born Jillian Dowding on July 3, 1992, in Kitchener, Ontario, is a powerhouse Canadian rock singer whose dynamic presence and emotive songwriting have earned her national acclaim. A Sheridan College graduate, she burst onto the scene with her debut EP Wilde Eyes, Steady Hands in 2019, quickly followed by her 2020 album Ruthless, which cemented her status as a rising star in Canadian rock. Known for her raw energy, gritty vocals, and unapologetic authenticity, JJ has amassed over 36 million streams worldwide, making history as the first woman since 1996 to simultaneously top all three Canadian rock charts while winning the JUNO Award for Rock Album of the Year. Her follow-up releases, including Wilde, Wilde's EPs, and 2024's Vices, showcase her versatility, blending melodic hooks with hard-hitting riffs and emotionally charged lyrics. A fierce live performer, she continues to captivate audiences across Canada, from intimate hometown shows in Kitchener to major festivals, while using her platform to celebrate community, resilience, and the transformative power of rock music.
