About John Shambles
John Shambles is the solo alternative/indie project of Canadian musician Brett Emmons, best known as the lead singer of The Glorious Sons. Launched as a more intimate and introspective creative outlet, John Shambles showcases Emmons’ songwriting in a rawer, stripped-down form while still carrying the anthemic emotional weight that defines his work. The project gained momentum in 2025 with the release of singles such as “Fool in the Woods,” “Landmines,” and “Try Not To Freak Out,” leading into the 2026 album Cabin Fever, released through Black Box Music. Musically, John Shambles leans into moody alternative rock textures, reflective lyricism, and melodic hooks, often exploring themes of anxiety, ambition, isolation, and personal growth. The Spring Fever Tour in 2026 included Canadian dates in Toronto, Waterloo, London, and Winnipeg, signaling strong fan interest in the project beyond Emmons’ primary band.
