About Kingfisher
Kingfisher is an Ottawa, Ontario-based five-piece power pop and punk-influenced band known for blending gritty, DIY production with melodic songwriting and layered vocal harmonies. The group features vocalists and primary songwriters Brent Walker and Joe Brownrigg, alongside Steve Lomatski on guitar, Casey Conner on bass, and Dave Dorval on drums, forming a lineup rooted in a classic rock-band structure but filtered through a modern punk and skate-punk sensibility. Their sound draws from 1990s punk, college rock, and power pop traditions, often combining fast, driving rhythms with Thin Lizzy-style dual-guitar harmonies and hook-driven choruses that emphasize immediacy and emotional directness. Operating with a fully DIY ethos, the band handles much of their own writing, recording, and production, frequently releasing material through independent channels such as Steady Riot Records.
