About Terra Spencer Band
Terra Spencer is a Nova Scotia–based musician, songwriter, and performer whose work blends folk, roots, and storytelling traditions of Atlantic Canada. Originally from Windsor, Spencer grew up near the Avon River and developed a writing style influenced by maritime history, small-town life, and classic singer-songwriter traditions. Performing with her backing group, often referred to as the Terra Spencer Band, she presents her songs in a full-band format featuring piano, guitar, and roots-oriented instrumentation that complements her narrative-driven lyrics. Spencer first gained national attention after releasing her debut album in 2018 and has since built a reputation through touring across Canada, the United Kingdom, and parts of Europe. Her songwriting has received nominations and recognition from organizations such as Music Nova Scotia and the Canadian Folk Music Awards. Known for thoughtful storytelling and warm stage presence, Terra Spencer’s music draws comparisons to classic singer-songwriters while remaining rooted in the contemporary East Coast folk scene.
