VANCAMP is a Peterborough indie-folk artist who writes hooky, emotionally-driven indie folk for people who want to say how they really feel.

From soft-spoken fingerpicking to full-band barn-burners singer/songwriter VANCAMP crafts award-winning songs that walk the line between quiet vulnerability and crowd-lifting energy. While rooted in folk, VANCAMP’s sound draws just as much from indie rock and alt-pop — pairing shimmering guitars and layered harmonies with raw, reflective songwriting. The project began in the quiet moments of the pandemic and quickly found traction as live shows returned — rooted in a desire to connect with others through music that doesn’t hide what it means.

In 2024, VANCAMP was named Emerging Artist of the Year by the Peterborough Folk Festival and took home top prize at the Don Skuce Memorial Songwriting Contest for the single “November.” With a steadily growing digital audience, VANCAMP’s blend of confessional lyrics and community-minded storytelling resonates across social platforms.

VANCAMP has built a reputation as a compelling live act with a steady run of performances across Ontario. From intimate venues like Peterborough’s Sadleir House and Jethro’s Bar to iconic spots like Toronto’s Cameron House and Kingston’s Grad Club, VANCAMP has shared the stage with a variety of respected artists while steadily growing a loyal following. Festival appearances include multiple sets at the Peterborough Folk Festival, NXNE in Toronto, and Mariposa Folk Festival, along with stops at Pride Toronto, the Road to Cultivate Festival, and GAINFEST. Whether playing sold-out hometown shows or reaching new audiences on the road, the project consistently delivers heartfelt performances that blend quiet moments with energetic bursts — a live experience that “leaves an impression.” (Kingston Live!)

As an independent artist, VANCAMP has the freedom to follow the songs wherever they need to go. It remains a personal, evolving project — one that can shift shape, stretch out, or pull back depending on what the moment calls for. Calvin leans into experimentation — allowing the project to grow naturally, shifting between sounds and stories as they feel most urgent. Every release is intentional, and that freedom keeps the songs honest.

Calvin has written with artists like Hawksley Workman, Melissa Payne, Brooklyn Doran and many more. Whether in the studio or on stage, VANCAMP continues to offer songs that meet people where they are — unpolished, sincere, and unafraid to say what they mean.

Painting Pelicans emerged from collaborations between our lead vocalist Harry and our guitarist Jonas.

Jonas and Harry started recording music together in early 2021, initially intending to record a Harry solo album. However, we realized we wrote good music together, and felt that expanding the project to a full band made the most sense.

Since then, we've expanded to perform full-band shows, wrote, self-recorded, and self-produced an entire album's worth of songs (out Nov. 17, 2023), and have played to hundreds of people across Ontario.

Thanks for reading! We're absolutely stoked if our music makes you groove (even just a little bit)!

I, the Mountain is a four piece indie-folk band based in Kitchener, ON. Known for their joyous harmonies, interactive live performances, and passion for building community through music, the band has built a fanbase of loyal “Mountaineers” across Canada.

Formed by talented vocalists Matt Lamers (guitar) and Matt Rappolt (percussion) at Peterborough’s Trent University, the band has steadily climbed the ranks of the Canadian indie-folk scene, adding Allison Dyjach (keys) and Rory McLachlin (guitar) to complete the lineup.

The group is making waves in Canadian music circles and has performed with internationally renowned acts such as The Strumbellas, Elliott Brood, Born Ruffians, and Busty & the Bass. In 2022, I, the Mountain broke through in the festival scene, winning over crowds at Hillside Festival, Riverfest Elora, Sound of Music Festival, Mariposa Folk Fest, Muskoka Music Festival, and more.

I, the Mountain’s debut album Little Wild (2020) and subsequent singles "The Boat" and "Coal Mine" earned airplay on CBC radio and amassed more than 350,000 Spotify streams. Now, I, the Mountain is taking the next bold step in their journey by bringing their gorgeous four-part harmonies to festivals and stages all across Canada.
