About Kawartha Settlers' Village
Step back in time at Kawartha Settlers' Village, a ten-acre historic site located in Bobcaygeon, Ontario. Originally a thriving family farm dating back to the 1800s, the property was transformed in 1990 into a living history village showcasing life from 1830 to 1935. Visitors can explore over 20 restored and recreated historic buildings, including a blacksmith shop, schoolhouse, general store, and traditional homes, all brought together to tell the story of early settler life in the Kawarthas. From spring through fall, the site comes alive with guided tours, educational programs, and seasonal events like Boos & Booze and the Festival of Trees. Perfect for families, history buffs, and curious tourists, Kawartha Settlers' Village offers a mix of cultural enrichment and community celebration. The village also serves as a venue for weddings, school groups, and paranormal investigations, making it a dynamic blend of heritage and entertainment. Open May through September, it's a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the Kawartha Lakes region.
