About Ameliasburgh Heritage Village
Ameliasburgh Heritage Village is an open-air historical museum located in Prince Edward County that preserves and interprets rural life in the region during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries through a collection of restored heritage buildings, artifacts, and interactive exhibits; the site began in 1968 with the preservation of an 1868 Wesleyan Methodist Church and has since expanded into a small pioneer village featuring structures such as a log cabin, blacksmith shop, carpenter's shop, sap shanty, dairy building, display barns, and beekeeping exhibits that demonstrate the agricultural and craft traditions that shaped early communities in the area; located near Roblin Lake in the historic village of Ameliasburgh, the museum operates as part of the county's heritage and cultural programming and frequently hosts seasonal events, heritage demonstrations, and educational programs that allow visitors to experience pioneer skills and everyday life from earlier eras; through guided tours, historical displays, and community programming, Ameliasburgh Heritage Village serves as an important cultural resource that highlights the settlement history, rural industries, and local traditions that helped shape Prince Edward County and the wider region of eastern Ontario.
